2015 Toastmasters World Championship: An Analysis of the Winner's Speech

Getting the Audience on His Side      One thing that is as clear as day in Mohammed Qahtani's presentation is that he doesn't orbit his topic. He gets directly into his topic without any unnecessary delays and uncalled for examples. He begins his presentation with a style of opening I have never seen before, which proved to be very successful in grabbing myself and the audience's attention. He demonstrates how words cuts deeper than a knife. He demonstrates how a word can kill and save. He demonstrates how a word has more power than we believe it does. He gives a superb yet saddening example of how a single sentence murdered his friend, Nasser.
